Providing quality public health and universal health care access are key challenges facing not only developing countries but also developed countries as the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated.

A rapid expansion of public, affordable health care infrastructure is particularly crucial in this context. Nevertheless, exogenous shocks such as pandemics can hinder health outcomes.

I apply quantitative empirical methods to assess health accessibility and public health management in different historical contexts.
